DIGITAL DOCUMENTATION OF MONUMENTS AND SITES WITH 3-D MODELLING AND QUALITATIVEINFORMATION
Abstract
THE RESEARCH DISCUSSED IN THIS THESIS IS ABOUT CAD, MODELLING AND DIGITAL DOCUMENTATION REGARDING MONUMENTS AND SITES. ACTUALLY, THE CAD AND MODELLING TECHNIQUES AND METHODS REQUIRED TO DIGITAL EXTEND CONVENTIONAL DOCUMENTATION USED TRADITIONALLY IN ARCHITECTURE AND ARCHAEOLOGY ARE DEVELOPED AND PRESENTED. FOR THIS PURPOSE, CAD AND GIS ARE REVIEWED IN GENERAL, DYNAMIC MODELLING IN PARTICULAR, AS A BASIS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF A NEWLY ARCHITECTURAL ORIENTED SYSTEM - NAMED NAOS - FOR BYZANTINE CHURCHES MODELLING AND VISUALIZATION.
