THE EFFECT OF RESINS AND ADDITIVES ON THE MICROSTRUCTURE AND PROPERTIES OF ALUMINA-CARBON REFRACTORIES
Abstract
IN THE PRESENT STUDY THE INFLUENCE OF RESINS AND SILICON-BORON-ALUMINUM CONTAINING ADDITIVES ON THE MICROSTRUCTURE AND THE PROPERTIES OF ALUMINA- CARBON REFRACTORIES HAS BEEN STUDIED. THE OPTIMUM POLYMERIZATION CONDITIONS OF THE RESINS AS WELL AS THE INFLUENCE OF ITS POLYMERIZATION ON THE PROPERTIES OF REFRACTORIES HAVE BEEN ASSESSED. THE REACTIONS OF ADDITIVES TAKING PLACE IN ALUMINA-CARBON SYSTEMS HAVE BEEN STUDIED AS A FUNCTION OF TEMPERATURE AND COMPOSITION OFFIRING ATMOSPHERE. THE CHARACTERIZATION OF THE MICROSTRUCTURE OF REFRACTORY TESTING PIECES WITH ADDITIVES AFTER COOKING AND OXIDATION AND CORROSION HAS BEEN CARRIED OUT. THE INFLUENCE OF REFRACTORIES HAVE BEEN THEORETICALLY ANALYSED.
