The kleftiko song ( 18-19 ce): history and art music in basic education and the culture

Abstract

This thesis researches, investigates and evaluates the routes of the Greek traditional folk songs and their spread. Additionally, the role that the "kleftes" (thieves) and "armatoloi" (armed men) played in the period when Greece was under the Turkish occupation and the birth - history of the "kleftiko" traditional folk song is historically recorded. Also, the revolutionary and anti - regime activities of "kleftes" and "armatoloi" are stressed and the importance of their contribution to the liberation of the country is highlighted. Particular importance was given to the publications of these traditional folk songs, as well as to their publishers, the first researchers, Greeks and foreigners. There is also an extensive - in depth and thorough referral in the "language" used in the "kleftiko" traditional folk song, its ideology, its vocalism as well as the value of the musical sounds that exploited the traditional rhyme and led to the traditional folk dancing.
