Use of organic dyes for the colouration of anodised aluminium with electrolytic methods

Abstract

Α)THE INFLUENCE OF SOME CATIONIC DYES WHICH WERE USED AS ADDITIRES IN THE ACIDIC TIN(II) SULFATE SOLUTIONS,DURING THE D.C. TREATMENT AT ANODISED ALUMINIUM,WAS INVESTIGATED.THESE DYES ARE: BASIC GREEN 4,BASIC BLUE 12,BASIC BLUE 9,BASIC ORANGE 14 AND WITH C.I. 45010.THE OPTIMUM CONDITIONS ARE 13V DC AND 3MIN OF CATHODIC TREATMENT.ALL THE ABOVE DYES HAVE POSITIVE INFLUENCE ON THE TIN DEPOSITION AT THE BOTTOM OF THE POVES OF THE ANODIC FILM AND THUS ON THE COLOUR INTENSITY,THE DYE BASIC GREEN 4 HAS AN-ALSO- POSITIVE INFLUENCE ON THE BAMER LAYER CHARACTERISTICS,BECAUSE IT CAN BALANCE THE PTT AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PORES,DECREASE THE DISSOLUTION OF THE OXIOLE AND THE EXTENT OF ITS DESTRUCTION. B)THE ACTION OF THE ANIONIC DYE ACID BLUE 45,WHICH IS ADDED IN A CONCENTRATION OF 7.5GIL IN THE ACIODIC TIN (II) SULFATE SOLUTIONS,WITH THE USE OF A.C. -15V(50HZ)-WAS INVESTIGATED.THE ELECTROLYTIC COLOURED PROVES HAVE A GREY-BLUE LUEE.THE METHOD IS A COMBINATION OF THE METHOD OF ELECTROLYTIC COLOURI ...
