The patients were divided in three groups. Group A included cases of clinically diagnosed primary inguinal hernia, group Β cases of probable inguinal hernia recurrence and group C cases of obscure groin pain. Our study showed the following: - Herniography constitutes a diagnostic examination of high sensitivity and specificity for identification of inguinal hernias. - Herniography proved to be a first choice examination for the diagnosis of nonpalpable or asymptomatic hernias. - The intraperitoneal infusion of methylene-blue may be useful in some cases, facilitating the identification and dissection of small or "drowned" beneath adhesions hernial sacs. However, there is no adequate evidence to consider this method as a routine examination providing greater diagnostic possibilities during the surgical exploration of the inguinal canal.</dc:description><dc:description xmlns:lang="el">Περιγράφονται τεχνικά στοιχεία και αποτελέσματα 98 κηλογραφιών με ταυτόχρονη ενδοπεριτοναϊκή έγχυση του μεθυλενίου. - Η ενδοπεριτοναϊκή έγχυση κυανού του μεθυλενίου μπορεί κατά περίπτωση να φανεί χρήσιμη στην αναγνώριση και παρασκευή προβληματικών ή μικρών κηλικών σάκων, αλλά σαν μέθοδος ρουτίνας δεν φαίνεται να αυξάνει τις διαγνωστικές δυνατότητες της χειρουργικής διερεύνησης του βουβωνικού πόρου.</dc:description><dc:title xmlns:lang="el">Η σημασία της κηλογραφίας και της ενδοπεριτοναϊκής εγχύσεως κυανού του μεθυλενίου στην ανάδειξη και ταυτοποίηση κηλών της βουβωνικής χώρας</dc:title><dc:title xmlns:lang="en">The contribution of herniography and intraperitoneal methylene-blue infusion identification and diagnosis of inguinal hernias</dc:title><dc:creator xmlns:lang="en">Tepetes, Konstantinos</dc:creator><dc:creator xmlns:lang="el">Τεπετές, Κωνσταντίνος</dc:creator><dc:date>1990</dc:date><dc:language>gre</dc:language><dc:subject xmlns:lang="el">Κήλες</dc:subject><dc:subject xmlns:lang="el">Κηλογραφία</dc:subject><dc:subject xmlns:lang="el">Κυανούν του μεθυλενίου</dc:subject><dc:subject xmlns:lang="en">Hernia</dc:subject><dc:subject xmlns:lang="en">Herniography</dc:subject><dc:subject xmlns:lang="en">Methylene blue</dc:subject><dc:publisher xmlns:lang="en">University of Patras</dc:publisher><dc:publisher xmlns:lang="el">Πανεπιστήμιο Πατρών</dc:publisher><dc:subject xmlns:lang="el">Ιατρική και Επιστήμες Υγείας</dc:subject><dc:subject xmlns:lang="el">Βασική Ιατρική</dc:subject><dc:subject xmlns:lang="en">Medical and Health Sciences</dc:subject><dc:subject xmlns:lang="en">Basic Medicine</dc:subject><dc:fathernamelatin>N.</dc:fathernamelatin><dc:identifier>10.12681/eadd/1431</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>http://hdl.handle.net/10442/hedi/1431</dc:identifier><dc:type>PhD Thesis</dc:type></oai_dc:dc></metadata></record></GetRecord></OAI-PMH>
