Abstract
As part of this doctoral thesis were the following: Implemented a data collection and processing centre of the worldwide Neutron Monitor cosmic radiation measurements in real time at the University of Athens, The ANMODAP Centre (Athens Neutron Monitor Data Processing Centre) (Mavromichalaki et al., 2005) Using ANMODAP, became possible the early detection of Ground Level Events. Higher energy precursor particles are detected earlier than the great mass of lower energy which has the catastrophic results. The particles are used to produce the alarm (Alert Signal) in real time. The signal is particularly useful for satellite telecommunication systems and human health in the aviation and space missions. The warning system for the Ground Level Enhancements has been successfully tested both on historical data and in real time observations during the GLE 70 of 13 December 2006 (G.
